ReplyDeleteI just bought a new sewing machine. My health has me home bound for awhile but I'm way too young to sit around bored (I'm in my 40's) I happened across your YouTube videos and I'm hooked! Just made four fleece hats, ironed and cut material for the make-up brush holders, and am waiting for my fabric from fabrics.com to make me Dohlman Style shirts! You are an amazing teacher and I can't get enough! Keep putting them out! After I get all these small projects done, I'm going to try my hand at one of the quilt alongs. Ps. Thanks for the link to fabrics.com. They are crazy cheap. Just placed my 2nd order this week!
ReplyDeleteHi Vanessa, I came across your beginners sewing videos and they are the best! I am crocheting a baby blanket and I would like to add a satin binding to it and also a backing. Can I purchase the binding from fabric stores? Could you also tell me what I would need for the backing? Yes I am clueless, but I love to learn! Many thanks

I'm just coming from You Tube, where I was watching your pillowcase tutorial and I fell in love with how perfect the final result was! Your sewing skills are perfect! I hope to sew as well as you do, someday, instead of the crooked stuff I currently make. lol
ReplyDeleteGod's blessings to you and yours,
Marla
I think this is the first time I've seen your husband. He is a very handsome man and I can definitely see where your little boy looks just like his daddy and your beautiful little girl looks just like her pretty mommy. You have truly been blessed with a lovely family.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing all of your sewing skills with everyone. I have learned so very much from watching all of your tutorials.
All the best,
Beth
Peace and Blessings to you and your beautiful family. Thank you for sharing your gift fellow GEM (I was born under the same set of stars.) I look forward to cruising your site. May you continue to inspire.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your recommendation of the kenmore 19106 from Tuesday Morning sad but true they have been out of stock began looking over two wks ago :( researched on the web to see if I could find it will else where Wal-Mart is selling it for $109 and sites for a lot more too. Guess those of us who bumped into you site recently are out of luck. At the $100 and $109+ price tag the Brother2600i is the best price going for a beginner sewing machine (I prefer the older Pffaf 1475/or7570. Bernina is also excellent). I have been sewing for 40 years, everything from wedding attire and head piece and veil to mending. You are a much needed inspiration to the novice sewer/crafter praise God for for what you are doing this... please continue to inspire.
